The creditors’ committees for Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG, Air Berlin PLC and airberlin technik GmbH (ABT) attended meetings today. They discussed the bidding offers received for airberlin or parts of the company in great detail. Frank Kebekus, airberlin's chief representative in the insolvency proceedings, Lucas Flöther, an administrator appointed by the District Court of Charlottenburg, and the CEO of airberlin, Thomas Winkelmann, were instructed to continue their negotiations with the bidders and come to an agreement.
A special feature is that the bidding process for airberlin technik, with approximately 850 employees, will be dealt with in a later stage in the bidding process for airberlin's airline. This is due to the fact that investors interested in acquiring ABT need to be clear about the developments of the airline in order to deal more fully with ABT and submit an appropriate offer. The schedule for the ABT bidding process therefore requires that bidders submit their offers. This will be followed by an evaluation of the various offers. There are parties who have also expressed an interest in this division of airberlin. Talks with potential investors have provided positive feedback.
As the selection of bidders and the conclusion of transactions are also subject to approval by the Board of Directors of Air Berlin PLC, the Board of Directors will discuss the bidders' offers. The status of the bidding process will then be announced to the public.
