Insolvency proceedings under self-administration will be continued

Constituent meeting of the boards of creditors

The boards of creditors for Air Berlin PLC, Air Berlin PLC & Co. Air Freight KG and Air Berlin Technik GmbH have today convened their constituent meetings and taken their first decisions.

The chief representative of airberlin in the insolvency proceedings under self-administration, Frank Kebekus, said after the meetings: “The boards have decided unanimously to continue both business operations as well as the insolvency proceedings under self-administration. Furthermore, the individual appointed by the District Court of Charlottenburg to deal with the case, Lucas Flöther, has been unanimously confirmed in his office by the boards of creditors. This is a good signal for those involved in the process. We shall push ahead with the further negotiations at great speed. Our goal is and shall be to quickly conclude viable contracts and in this way retain as many jobs as possible.”
