Whilst December’s load factor decreased by 1.5 percentage points, airberlin was able to increase its load factor for the full year 2016 to 84.3 per cent.
Overall, and despite a challenging market environment, airberlin can look back on a stable load factor development for the year 2016. Furthermore, in December 2016, airberlin recorded an increase of 1.8 percent in the number of available seat kilometers (ASK) as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
In December, the number of passengers traveling on airberlin worldwide decreased by 1.3 percent, to 1,646,214 passengers. In contrast, at 2.863 billion kilometers (-0.1 percent), the revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) remained virtually stable in yearly comparison.
