Career prospects: aim high

Flight attendant recruitment in Dusseldorf

The occupation of flight attendant is still a dream job for many school leavers. To coincide with the forthcoming end of the academic year, airberlin and Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) are seeking new recruits. airberlin and LGW jointly invite newcomers and experienced flight attendants interested in the position of Senior Cabin Crew Member to attend a recruitment day in Dusseldorf this coming Friday, 19th May 2017.

LGW is a long-term partner of airberlin and operates a modern, young fleet of Bombardier Dash8-Q400 aircraft. LGW connects a number of airports in Europe with airberlin's hubs in Berlin and Dusseldorf.

We are seeking applicants with good social and communication skills, who are aged over 18, have completed their education and have a passion for both in-flight hospitality and passenger safety and satisfaction. A great deal of initiative, autonomy, flexibility and resilience are just as important as a good command of German and English. A friendly manner and well-groomed appearance complete the candidate profile.

Successful newcomers will be prepared for their in-flight deployment during an approximately four-week training course in Dortmund. This will include learning onboard safety procedures and first aid training. The course will also include special training in the areas of service and sales, communication and intercultural skills. Upon successful completion, the flight attendants will work on short-haul flights within Europe. After gaining twelve months' flight experience, newcomers will have the opportunity to be promoted to Senior Cabin Crew Member.

Those with previous experience will be able to assume the position of Senior Cabin Crew Member after a brief training course.

At the recruitment day, applicants will hold a discussion in English, take a short general knowledge test and finally undergo a personal interview. Candidates should bring a valid form of ID or passport.
